I know this may be trivial for any of you working at scale-ups or in Big Tech, but we’re very excited that we made our very first hire on the Hard Problems team. It feels like a special moment that we should savor.

Vania is a recent graduate of the Service Design MA program at the Royal College of Art in London. She has an incredible background, which includes running an important program to improve childhood nutrition in Indonesia, using design as a key part of the innovative program called Uma Tumbuh Sehat — her team was a global finalist in a Stanford innovation challenge.

Please join us in welcoming Vania to the team!

Up until this point, Hard Problems, has been just Mahima volunteering from India where she’s working full-time at ARTPARK (creating AI-driven tools for oral cancer screening) Elyce volunteering part-time from London while she completes a PhD in organizational psychology at NIODA, and Daniel (me) based in London and the only one working full-time on the company.
