Fireside Chat on 29 May: Why Are Public Health Experts Looking for Technologists?

A behind-the-scenes conversation with India's leading public health experts.

At Hard Problems, we want to shine a light on real, on-the-ground work that rarely takes center stage, especially in tech circles. The kind of work that’s complex, messy, and quietly saving lives at scale.

To that end, we’re inviting Dr. Prabhdeep Kaur and Dr. Ganeshkumar, two of India’s top public health minds from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), for our next fireside. With decades of experience leading national health programs, they’ll pull back the curtain on what makes public health programs succeed or fail, and why technologists are becoming essential to the work.

What we’ll cover:

  • The good, bad, and ugly of working in public health

  • Why digital tools often collapse under real-world complexity

  • Where technologists helps, and where they get in the way

  • Whether there is an exciting career for technologists in public health, and the kind of leadership this field urgently needs

Who is joining?

We’ve got folks joining from across sectors – tech, medicine, public health, academia. If this kind of cross-pollination excites you, come hang out.
